Dave has been with U-No-Hoo since 1983, although he has been involved
with bands and musical groups since 1975.
His first
instrument was the cornet, which he played in various ensembles at school but
also with a band called “Memphis Gold”. This band were to be the basis of
the “Four Teens” with whom he played bass guitar from September 1976 until July 1979 .The latter
part of 1979 saw the formation of “Newsflash”, of which Dave was a founder
member. This band toured the North and North East of England extensively for
almost 2 years, playing 28 or more gigs per month until 1981.

After a few
weeks break from the constant touring, Dave helped to form another band called
“Reaction”, who were designed to play more for the enjoyment of the
musicians rather than to earn a living. After playing for 6 months with this
band, he was offered a job playing bass for the rock and roll pianist,
“Freddie Fingers Lee”. The next 12 months were very hectic, with several appearances on French TV, one nighters in the UK from Devon to
Yorkshire, concerts in Paris and a 50 date summer tour of the South of France,
working for Radio Monte Carlo, the
largest Radio Station in Europe.
Dave continues to enjoy his involvement in
music, thanks to the ongoing success of U-No-Hoo! |
