Since a very early age, Barry has always had a love for performing popular
music havingcome from a musical background where his father was a band
leader and drummer in Southampton. His younger brother and brother-in-law
have also found success as drummers in local bands. Early in 1967, Barry
formed U-No-Hoo initially as a trio playing it’s first ever gig on the 27th March
of that year at a Social club in Grantham, Lincolnshire .
The Band progressed through the 70’s as a 6-piece with 2 female vocalists during the
popularity of Swedish super-group ‘Abba’. This popular line-up remains the same today
incorporating successfully modern musical trends.
One of Barry’s highlights was in 1978 when the Band won it’s way through to represent
the East Midlands at the televised Final in London of ‘Pub Entertainer of the Year’. This led
to guest appearances on the Supremes tour the year after followed by many engagements
alongside some of the UK ’s leading Artistes.
Barry’s other hobbies include watching football, particularly Arsenal Football Club, and going
to live concerts. However, the ‘buzz’ of a live audience having a party is always something
very special..
