Mick was born in Bedford, where he began to play drums at the age of 5.
His first band was the Bedford Town Brass Band, who he stayed with for
a few years until he joined Bedford Youth Dance Orchestra.
As a teenager he moved with his parents to Peterborough where he
played in various groups. He joined the Skyliners in 1982 as a replacement
for the drummer who coincidentally left to join U-No-Hoo! He was to stay with
the Skyliners for most of the next 20 years whilst combining other band
drumming jobs where he was needed as adep. Some of these were 5 Card-Trick, The Searchers, and U-No-Hoo for a few gigs.
Mick has been living in Kettering for the last 6 years with his wife and children. It is
his ambition to still be playing with U-No-Hoo when he is 65!
